Forceps that he was using during his birth caused damage to a facial nerve which left him with an eyelid that was droopy as well as a speech impairment. Stallone spent the majority of his youth in boarding school. He was reunited with his family when he was five and moved with them to Maryland. Stallone was first taken care of by his father following his divorce in 1957. But at 15 Stallone married his mother and moved to Philadelphia. Due to his experience of being expelled from school, he went to an institution for troubled teens.
